Chickens need friends too!

Pasture Raised Chickens

We know it’s easy to get lost in all the labels touting “all-natural” “free-range” and all of its iterations. The truth is, a lot of producers try to get away with using the same unhealthy, un-sustainable practices by slapping a vague “natural” label on their product.

That’s why Vital Farms rocks. Their eggs are “pasture-raised,” which is mandated by the USDA to mean “continuous and unconfined access to pasture throughout their life cycle.” (You know, like they used to be before industrial farming took over)

Why does this matter? For one, chickens are social creatures. They experience far less stress and disease when they are free to roam about have social interactions. Can you imagine little chicken cocktail parties?

Aside from that, organic pasture-raised eggs taste a whole lot better. Give them a try and you won’t be disappointed. And you can feel good that the chickens that laid those eggs were happy while doing so. (They even lay blue ones sometimes! Super cool!)
